Passengers Suing Megabus Blame Mechanical Failures for Crash

Two Chicago-area residents, who are among four passengers suing Megabus, are blaming mechanical failures for last week’s crash in Indiana.

An amended lawsuit claims the Megabus was negligent in maintaining and operating that bus. The bus flipped on its side in Greenwood, Ind. on Oct. 14, injuring 18 people.

“The lady bus driver was letting us know that it was a problem with the windshield wipers and she was driving blind. She was telling us this,” said Lennel Sorrells, a Megabus passenger.

Indiana State Police say the bus driver swerved to avoid hitting a stopped vehicle on I-65.
